A pioneer in her disciplines, Géraldine Fasnacht has used the evolution of equipment and her vision to imagine and achieve lines never ridden before in freeride snowboarding and wingsuit flying. Freeride snowboarder, BASE jumper and wingsuit, ultralight and glacier aircraft pilot, she has developed a unique approach blending riding and flight. In 2002, she won the Verbier Xtreme on her first attempt — the most extreme competition in the world. This victory marked the start of an exceptional career: 11 international titles on the Freeride World Tour, including three Verbier finals, and 23 podiums worldwide. Passionate about the mountains, she began skydiving in 1998 before dedicating herself to BASE jumping from 2001. She adopted an innovative approach: flying in a wingsuit from summits to create new lines. Through her expeditions, she has traced new snowboard lines and opened iconic summits in Antarctica, Baffin Island, Iran and the Alps. In 2012, she marked a turning point by opening the Drus summit, then the Matterhorn — earning her the nickname 'the bird woman' — before continuing with peaks above 4,000 metres such as the Täschhorn and Monte Rosa. Today, the mountains remain her ground for inspiration and freedom, which she shares with her son Odin.
