Aerial Dance
Aerial dance at the Verbier Air Show is a moment apart. Suspended beneath the Mont Gele cable car at 3,023 metres altitude, aerial dancers perform choreographies that blend acrobatics, contemporary dance and circus arts. The contrast between the grace of the movement and the void beneath their feet creates a striking spectacle.
The aerial dance performers are elite athletes, trained in contemporary circus and aerial acrobatics. They use silks, hoops or straps to create fluid, spectacular figures in the void. Each performance is choreographed to a soundtrack, creating a uniquely immersive experience at altitude.
This is the most poetic discipline at the Verbier Air Show. The moment adrenaline gives way to pure emotion. The movements are visible from the Mont Gele terrace and from the slopes below.
Aerial dance shows are scheduled for Saturday 11 April and Sunday 12 April, beneath the Mont Gele cable car. Performances are not subject to the same weather constraints as base jump or wingsuit.
